Discover Pecha Kucha Night at COTONOHA Artspace + Cafe on February 25, 2012.
The original PechaKucha Night, called “Pecha Kucha 20×20,” was and event that started in Tokyo, Japan in 2003 as a way for young designers to network and showcase their work in a public setting.
Since that time, it has evolved into a global celebration with events being held in over 460 cities
around the world and providing inspiration and
support for creative people of all types.
The name, “Pecha Kucha,” is derived from a Japanese expression for the sound of conversation; similar to the English term, “chit chat.”
The event is focused on presentations which are given by the participants in a format that is based on a very simple idea designed to keep the length of the presentations brief and concise to keep things moving along smoothly and quickly… 20 images x 20 seconds. (Pssst…. That’s where the 20×20 part comes into the name.)
In Okinawa, this will be the eighth (8th) event held on the island and it is sponsored by COTONOHA Art Space + Cafe & NPO Artpoint Okinawa (AP26°N).
If you are a creative type and would like to meet and network with other creatives on Okinawa, this is a must do event.
